Principal Photography Has Officially Wrapped Ahead of Schedule
News

Principal photography on Autr has officially wrapped — two days ahead of the original schedule and with the entire crew calling it one of the smoothest productions they have been part of. Filming took place across four locations over 34 days, with a cast of nine and a crew that never exceeded thirty people on any given shoot day. Director Sam Okafor described the final day on set as quietly emotional. The speed and discipline of the production is a testament to how thoroughly every department prepared before day one. Post-production begins immediately.
The production moved between four distinct locations, each chosen for a specific quality of light and atmosphere that could not be replicated on a studio set. The most demanding was a decommissioned airport terminal on the outskirts of the city, which required three days of prep and a full lighting design built from scratch.
Cinematographer Yuki Tanaka pushed for practical and natural light sources throughout, which kept the shooting days lean but demanded a level of planning that most productions of this size would not attempt. Every setup was pre-visualised in detail before the crew arrived on location, which meant time on set was spent executing rather than deciding. The cast responded to that clarity with performances that the director described as some of the most focused he has worked with. There were no significant delays, no weather losses, and no days that required pickups — a record the production team takes quiet pride in. The result is a locked shooting schedule that gives post-production the full window it needs to deliver the film properly.
"The most fun shoot of my career — and everyone made it feel effortless."

With production complete, attention now shifts fully to the release campaign. The first teaser trailer is in final cut and expected to drop within the next few weeks, marking the beginning of a promotional rollout that the team has been planning since pre-production. The film is ready — and so is everything built around it.
